The longest river
in Alberta, the Athabasca winds 1538 kilometers from its
source in the Columbia Icefields of Jasper National Park,
along the Continental Divide and through the Rocky Mountains,
across the Interior Plains and along the Canadian Shield,
before emptying into Lake Athabasca on the border of Wood
Buffalo National Park.
